BUTSCHKO – »ICH WILL WACKEN«
Kein Metal Festival auf der Welt ist mit dem WACKEN OPEN AIR vergleichbar. Dem einen ist es zu groß geworden, dem anderen kann es gar nicht groß genug sein. In jedem Fall geht von diesem Festival auch 2014/2015 eine ungebrochene Faszination aus.
Neben den Bands, Bühnen und Moshpits gibt es etwas Besonderes, das einen großen Teil zu eben dieser Faszination beiträgt: Der Wacken Camping Platz! Viele kommen immer wieder, allein um die Stimmung auf dem Camping Platz zu erleben. 80.000 Menschen auf engstem Raum, kein Ärger, jeder hilft dem anderen, eine eingeschworene Gemeinde und Party rund um die Uhr. Hier wird Metal in all seinen Formen wirklich gelebt und geliebt. Und eben wegen dieser Liebe ist jedes W:O:A auch 2015 nach einem Tag wieder ausverkauft.
Ich habe probiert, einen Teil dieser Faszination in einem Lied zu verewigen. Ein Lied, das ein Gefühl beschreibt, welches sich schon direkt auf der Heimreise bemerkbar macht – »ICH WILL WACKEN«

Next to the bands, stages and moshpits, there is something special that contributes a great deal to that fascination: the Wacken Camping Site! Lots of people only come for the great atmosphere, in fact! 80.000 people cooped up in a ridiculously small area, party all day and night, without any kind of trouble, conflict or violence to be witnessed … a pledged community. Here’s where metal comes alive and is loved in all its forms. Because of this love, every W:O:A is sold out within one day.
